If you take every factor into consideration, sociological, economic, psychological- there is a lot that you are not in control of when it comes to who you meet and inevitably spend your sentiments and time on.
Granted, if one of those key factor changed, you would most likely find yourself experiencing a paradigm shift; you would be in the midst of something entirely different.
